Umerkot/ Shangla (Staff Report): Police on Tuesday foiled two bids to transport fake ballot papers in Umerkot, Sindh, and Shangla, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
As per details, the security officials also arrested three suspects including Pakistan Post’s employee, who were taking a stock of the fake ballot papers to NA-10 constituency (Shangla) through a car.
The fake documents were being transported in the car that belongs to PML-N leader Ibadullah Khan, said to be a brother of key leader Amir Muqam.
The suspects identified as Afzal, Bakhat Shair Khan, and Pakistan Post’s employee Bashir Khan have been arrested in connection with the fraud.
In another incident, the security officials also arrested five suspects, who were taking a stock of the fake ballot papers to PS-52 constituency through a jeep. The fake documents were seized near Pakistan Chowk in the town.
The suspects identified as Anwar Soomro, Hakim, Iqbal, Kanghar, and Nawab have been arrested in connection with the fraud.
An investigation has been launched into the matters.
