Islamabad (Web Desk/Agencies): The Federal Cabinet on Tuesday approved the deployment of Pakistan army and the civil armed forces to ensure the peaceful conduct of general elections across the country.
The cabinet, which met in Islamabad today with Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar in the chair, gave this approval on the recommendation of the Ministry of Interior.
These forces will perform duties at sensitive constituencies and polling stations, and will also act as a rapid response force.
The decision came following the submission of a summary by the federal Interior Ministry in the meeting.
