Doha (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to hold important engagements in Doha today (Tuesday), where he will meet with the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, as well as Qatar’s Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.
The talks will revolve around advancing the existing partnership between Pakistan and Qatar and identifying new opportunities to broaden cooperation in diverse fields.
During the visit, the Qatari Prime Minister will host an Iftar reception in honour PM Shehbaz and the accompanying delegation.
The Pakistani premier is also likely to meet Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, along with the Minister of Foreign Trade, to discuss issues of shared concern and mutual interest.
In addition, a delegation representing the Qatar Businessmen Association will call on the premier to deliberate on prospects for boosting commercial collaboration and investment between the two countries.
PM Shehbaz arrived in Doha for two-day official visit on the invitation of Qatri Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
He was received at the King Hamad International Airport in Doha by Qatar’s Minister of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Pakistan’s ambassador to Qatar, Muhammad Amir, and diplomatic staff.
According to the Foreign Office (FO), the premier is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with other members of the cabinet and senior officials from the government.
This visit underlines the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Qatar and reflects their commitment to expanding collaboration across multiple fields.
The relationship between the two nations is rooted in mutual trust and active engagement on both regional and international fronts.
The meetings will also provide a chance for the leaders to share views on pressing regional and global challenges and to reaffirm their joint dedication to fostering peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
