Islamabad (Web Desk): Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series could be more expensive than its predecessors, with reports suggesting that the company may raise prices by around $100.
According to Bloomberg technology analyst Mark Gurman, Apple is considering increasing the starting prices of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max by approximately $100.
Reports indicate that the two Pro models could start at around $1,199, making them roughly $100 more expensive than the iPhone 17 Pro. At the current exchange rate, this is approximately Rs335,000, although the final retail price in Pakistan could be considerably higher due to taxes, duties, import costs and other charges.
The possible price increase is reportedly linked to rising costs of DRAM and NAND memory components. Higher prices for memory and storage parts have increased production expenses for smartphone manufacturers, prompting Apple to consider passing some of those additional costs on to customers.
Gurman has suggested that a $100 increase would be relatively modest compared with the rise in memory and storage costs, indicating that Apple may absorb part of the additional expenses rather than transferring the entire burden to consumers.
The potential increase may not be limited to the Pro lineup. Reports have also suggested that Apple could adjust the prices of other models, including the iPhone 17, iPhone Air and iPhone 17e.
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro series in September. The company could also use the launch event to introduce several other products.
Reports indicate that Apple may unveil its first book-style foldable iPhone alongside the new iPhone lineup. New Apple Watch and AirPods models are also expected to be announced.
However, the reported pricing remains unconfirmed. Apple has not officially announced any price increase, meaning the final prices will only become clear when the company formally unveils the new devices.
If the reported increase goes ahead, the iPhone 18 Pro series could become significantly more expensive for consumers in Pakistan and other international markets.
