Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Muhammad Zubair on Wednesday said that he sought no relief for former prime minister Nawaz Sharif or his daughter Maryam Nawaz during meeting with Army chief.

The development comes after Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major Gen Babar Iftikhar said the PML-N leader held two meetings with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa in recent weeks about Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz.

“The two meetings were held in the last week of August and on September 7,” said ISPR chief while talking to a private news channel. “In both meetings Zubair talked about Mian Nawaz Sharif sahib and Maryam Nawaz sahiba,” the ISPR chief added.

“General Qamar told Zubair that legal issues would get resolved in courts while political matters in parliament and “the army should be not be dragged into these matters,” he said.

“Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lt Gen Faiz Hameed was also present during the two meetings,” Major Gen Babar Iftikhar maintained.
