Islamabad (Web Desk): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has granted bail to Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime minister Imran Khan, in the Toshakhana case.

Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb of IHC approved the bail during a hearing on Wednesday, requiring her to submit a surety bond worth Rs1 million.

This decision comes as Bushra Bibi faces allegations related to the improper handling of state gifts.

During the proceedings, the judge questioned an officer from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) about the need for further questioning of Bushra. The officer stated that no additional investigation was needed, leading to the bail approval.

The court further referenced similar practices in other countries, noting that the British Prime Minister had also taken gifts home, citing regulations.

The judge highlighted how other nations, like Azerbaijan, display gifts in museums, with the only photograph of a Pakistani leader being that of Benazir Bhutto.

The Toshakhana case revolves around accusations of corruption involving both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, particularly regarding the sale of gifts received from foreign leaders.
