Islamabad: Interior Ministry has said that WiFi and mobile internet services will be suspended only in areas of federal capital with security concerns and remain operational as normal in the rest of the country.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Interior Ministry spokesperson regarding internet services said, “Mobile data and WiFi service will be suspended only in areas of security concerns. Internet and mobile services will continue to operate as usual in the rest of the country.”

Meanwhile, Islamabad police have launched a search and combing operation in the federal capital, taking at least 70 workers of the PTI into custody from the limits of Karachi Company, 60 arrested from the limits of Kohsar police station, 20 from Barakahu and 25 from limits of Ramna police station.

In addition to this, 40 PTI supporters were arrested from the limits of Tarnol police station and 45 from Lohi Bhair police station.

Last week PTI founder and ex-premier Imran Khan issued a call for a protest on November 24 (Sunday), denouncing what he described as the stolen mandate, the unjust arrests of people, and the passage of the 26th Amendment, which he said has strengthened a “dictatorial regime”.
