Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir's meetings with meetings with Iran’s senior political and military officials during his recent visit to Tehran have led to "encouraging progress towards a final understanding", the military’s media wing said on Saturday.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations, the field marshal wrapped up a brief but significant official visit to Iran, where he engaged with the country’s leadership as part of continuing diplomatic efforts focused on easing tensions and promoting meaningful dialogue in the region.
During the visit, Field Marshal Munir met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni.
As per the ISPR statement, "The discussions remained focused upon expediting the consultative process underway to support peace and stability in the region and to reach to a conclusive agreement."
Field Marshal Munir arrived in Tehran on Friday as Pakistan intensified its diplomatic engagement aimed at helping facilitate a potential peace agreement between the United States and Iran.
