Lahore (Web Desk): Water levels in several rivers across Punjab have continued to rise due to ongoing monsoon rains and inflows from India, triggering flood conditions at multiple locations across the province.
According to the Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), high-level flooding has been recorded in the Chenab River at Head Marala, Head Khanki and Head Qadirabad.
The PDMA said water flow at Head Marala was recorded at 195,000 cusecs, while Head Khanki registered 262,000 cusecs and Head Qadirabad recorded 245,000 cusecs.
The authority also reported a medium-level flood in Nullah Basantar in Narowal district, while low-level flooding has been observed in Nullah Bhimber in Gujrat and Nullah Palkhu in Wazirabad.
Meanwhile, low-level flooding has also been recorded in the Indus River at Tarbela and Chashma, where water flows were measured at 336,000 cusecs and 302,000 cusecs, respectively.
The PDMA said water levels in the Ravi River at Jassar, Shahdara and Head Sidhnai remain within the normal range, with no significant flood threat reported at these locations.
Authorities said the situation is being closely monitored, while flood alerts remain in place. Relevant departments and district administrations have been directed to stay vigilant and take all necessary precautionary measures to respond to any emergency.
