Lahore (Web Desk): Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed all relevant departments to utilise every available resource to effectively deal with urban flooding, hill torrents and other rain-related emergencies during the ongoing monsoon season.
Chairing a meeting in Lahore on Thursday, the chief minister instructed authorities to remain on high alert and ensure a coordinated response to protect lives and property in flood-prone areas.
Maryam Nawaz directed officials to respond promptly to complaints received through the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) helpline and maintain a complete record of all complaints along with the actions taken to resolve them.
She also ordered strict enforcement of the ban on bathing in rivers, dams and barrages to prevent accidents during the monsoon season.
The chief minister further directed the authorities to use drone surveillance to monitor restricted areas and help prevent drowning incidents and other emergencies.
She stressed that public safety should remain the top priority throughout the monsoon period.
