Riyadh (Web Desk): The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has convened an emergency meeting in response to a provocative statement made by the US ambassador expressing support for Israel.
The session, scheduled for February 26, will focus on Israel’s alleged illegal actions in the region.
The meeting aims to present a unified stance of OIC member states and formulate a coordinated strategy against Israeli measures. In an official statement, the OIC said that Israel seeks to undermine efforts toward a two-state solution for Palestine.
It is noteworthy that the OIC had previously condemned US Ambassador Mike Huckabee’s statement endorsing Israel.
The organization warned that such remarks encourage Israel to expand its control in the region and equated Israeli actions with a blatant violation of Palestinian rights.
In his statement, Huckabee had asserted that the US would not object if Israel were to establish control over large areas of the Middle East.
