Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan conducted a carefully planned intelligence-driven operation in the border region adjoining Afghanistan, eliminating seven militant bases associated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the faction referred to as Fitna al-Khawarij, their allied networks, and the Islamic State – Khorasan Province.

The security stated that the strikes were carried out with accuracy after verified intelligence pinpointed the locations.

The development comes in the wake of a series of devastating suicide attacks inside the country, including an explosion at an Imambargah in Islamabad and incidents in Bajaur and Bannu.

Another assault in Bannu during the sacred month of Ramadan further heightened alarm and underscored the urgency of a firm response.

Officials maintain that solid evidence links these acts of violence to the Khawarij, asserting that the operations were directed by their commanders and facilitators allegedly based across the border in Afghanistan. They described the cross-border dimension of the threat as a serious security challenge.

Islamabad has called upon Afghanistan’s interim authorities to uphold their responsibility by ensuring that Afghan soil is not exploited by extremist elements to stage attacks against Pakistan.

It stressed that preventing such activities is essential for maintaining peace and security in the region.
In addition, Pakistan has appealed to the global community to adopt a constructive approach by pressing the Taliban administration to adhere to its pledges and take effective measures to stop the use of Afghan territory for hostile actions against other states.
