Lahore (Web Desk): The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Friday finalised the name of former provincial chief executive Murad Ali Shah’s name to retain the chief minister's post in the Sindh government.

Speaking to his party’s Sindh parliamentary committee in Lahore, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari announced that Murad Ali Shah would be the party’s candidate for Sindh chief minister.

“We will request him to take the responsibility of this post again. But this time round we have to beat our own record,” he said.

Murad Ali Shah, who expressed gratitude to the party's leadership for trusting him again, will take oath as the province's chief minister for the third consecutive time.

Meanwhile, Bilawal Bhutto announced that that Awais Shah would be the candidate for Sindh Assembly speaker and Naveed Anthony as the candidate for deputy speaker.

Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori has summoned the Sindh Assembly session at 11am on February 24 (Saturday) in Karachi where the newly elected members of Sindh Assembly will take oath.

Earlier today, the newly elected members of the Punjab Assembly were administered oath by Speaker Muhammad Sibtain Khan.
