Islamabad (Web Desk): Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held an important meeting with US Charge d'Affaires, Natalie Baker where both sides engaged in a detailed discussion on the current regional situation.
Their conversation also focused on ongoing diplomatic initiatives, particularly preparations for the second round of the Islamabad Dialogue, with a shared understanding that continuous engagement through diplomatic channels is essential for achieving a durable solution to the conflict.
During the meeting, Naqvi welcomed US President Donald Trump’s decision to extend the ceasefire, describing it as a positive and meaningful move toward lowering tensions. He also voiced optimism that Iran would respond in a similarly constructive manner.
The interior minister noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir were making all-lout efforts at all levels to help resolve the issue.
He expressed hope that all stakeholders will prioritize dialogue and peaceful means.
Ambassador Baker, in turn, commended Pakistan for its responsible and constructive role in supporting peace efforts and contributing to initiatives aimed at resolving the ongoing regional challenges.
