Karachi (Web Desk): The 38th death anniversary of renowned Urdu poet Rais Amrohvi is being observed today (Tuesday).
Born on September 12, 1914, in Amroha, British India, he migrated to Pakistan on October 19, 1947, and eventually made Karachi his permanent residence.
Rais Amrohvi gained prominence for his unique approach to qat’a nigari and remained actively involved in efforts to advance and preserve the Urdu language in Pakistan.
Amrohvi also founded the Rais Academy, an initiative designed to assist individuals in strengthening their emotional stability and moral character.
He penned a number of works exploring subjects including metaphysics, meditation and yoga, while his literary achievements and intellectual contributions further enriched Urdu literature and thought.
Rais Amrohvi passed away on September 22, 1988.
