California (Web Desk): WhatsApp has taken a significant step to control spam and unnecessary messages by introducing a monthly limit on unresponded messages. According to technology websites, this measure is aimed at preventing users and businesses from sending unsolicited messages.
Under the new policy, if a user sends a message to someone who doesn’t respond and hasn’t saved their number, that message will count towards the user's monthly limit. For example, if three messages are sent after a meeting and no response is received, all three messages will be added to the user's monthly limit.
WhatsApp has not yet clarified how many messages a user can send per month, as the feature is still being tested in different countries. However, when a user or business approaches their message limit, they will receive a warning notification to reconsider sending more messages.
This change is particularly aimed at those users and businesses that send large volumes of messages, often without receiving a response. Regular users, who only message their friends or acquaintances, will not be significantly impacted by this change.
This new policy is part of WhatsApp’s broader strategy, which includes limiting the number of business messages in 2024, providing users the option to block business promotions, and imposing restrictions on the number of broadcast messages in 2025.
