According to tech websites, this browser assists users while browsing the web by leveraging ChatGPT to help with various tasks.
OpenAI claims that Atlas is not just a browser, but an intelligent assistant designed to make the web experience more natural and user-friendly. Its goal is to transform the internet from being merely a source of viewing information to a platform for understanding and interaction.
Now, users can directly ask ChatGPT to summarize a webpage, compare products, book airline tickets, or provide key points from an article, instead of relying on traditional search bars or clicking links.
An "Ask ChatGPT" button is also available on webpages, allowing users to engage in a conversation about the page’s content.
A key feature of the browser is its ability to remember previous interactions, offering more personalized suggestions in the future. Users have complete control over their data, with the option to keep or delete it.
This advanced browser also allows ChatGPT to automate tasks such as making purchases, booking flights, and scheduling meetings, which are currently available only to ChatGPT Plus and Pro users.
The browser includes a sidebar on webpages that summarizes content and helps clarify information.
OpenAI states that ChatGPT Atlas poses a challenge to traditional browsers like Google Chrome, as the browsing experience with ChatGPT will differ from using a search engine.
Currently available on macOS, the browser will soon be launched for Windows, iOS, and Android.
