Islamabad (Web Desk): Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has ordered that the bulletproof vehicles rejected by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government be immediately dispatched to Balochistan to support ongoing counterterrorism operations in the province governed by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
The decision came shortly after Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti publicly urged Naqvi to transfer the vehicles if KP did not wish to use them.
Bugti wrote on X that Balochistan, like KP, faces persistent terrorist threats and could make effective use of the vehicles to strengthen its security response.
Responding directly to Bugti’s post, Naqvi replied, “CM Sahib, done. These bulletproof vehicles will be sent to Balochistan immediately to enhance counterterrorism efforts. Thank you for raising this.”
The exchange followed KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s announcement that his government would return the vehicles provided by the Interior Ministry, describing them as “substandard and outdated.”
Chairing his first official meeting since taking office, Afridi criticized the quality of the vehicles, calling them “an insult” to the police force.
He further directed that security arrangements for former chief ministers be reinstated to ensure their safety and dignity.
