Dubai (Web Desk): Dubai has announced a new initiative offering discounts and special deals worth more than $800 to residents who invite friends and family to visit the emirate, as the tourism industry continues to face challenges following months of regional conflict.
The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism has launched the “A Dubai Invite” campaign, encouraging residents to act as ambassadors for the city by bringing their loved ones to the emirate. According to Dubai’s media office, the programme will remain active until the end of October.

The campaign allows residents inviting visitors between July 20 and October 31 to receive benefits worth over AED 3,000 ($816), including hotel accommodations, dining offers, attraction tickets and other experiences.
Residents can register their invited guests through the official platform to access the available benefits.
Dubai, which attracts around 19.5 million tourists annually, remains one of the Middle East’s leading travel destinations and has long been known as a hub for luxury tourism.
However, the emirate’s tourism sector has been affected by regional tensions. During the winter peak season, missile and drone attacks linked to Iran struck parts of the UAE, including hotels in Dubai and the iconic Burj Al Arab area, causing some tourists to leave the country.
Following a fragile ceasefire that took effect on April 8, visitor numbers have gradually improved, but industry officials told AFP that many hotels are currently depending more on domestic travellers.
In May, the Dubai government approved an economic support package worth more than $400 million to assist businesses affected by the aftermath of the conflict and disruptions caused by Iran’s blockade threats in the Strait of Hormuz.
The relief measures included waivers on certain municipal fees for hotels and restaurants, reduced penalties for customs-related violations and lower charges for civil aviation permits.
Earlier in March, Dubai authorities had also announced a separate support package exceeding $270 million aimed at helping businesses and families deal with economic pressures.
