Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high-level consultative meeting to review the situation following the recent extension of the Iran–US ceasefire and Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to promote peace in the region.
The meeting was attended by senior federal ministers, military leadership, and top officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Participants were briefed that Pakistan’s continuous diplomatic efforts contributed to the US President’s decision to extend the ceasefire, marking a positive development.
It was decided that Pakistan will intensify efforts to ensure a second round of Iran–US talks in Islamabad.
Diplomatic sources said Pakistani leadership is expected to re-engage Iranian officials to advance the negotiation process toward a lasting outcome.
The Prime Minister welcomed the extension of the ceasefire and reiterated that Pakistan will continue to play its mediating role to prevent escalation in the region.
Pakistan is increasingly seen as a key mediator between Iran and the United States, with attention now focused on the next phase of talks aimed at achieving a durable peace agreement.
