Islamabad (Web Desk): A key joint meeting of the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Defence was held under the chairmanship of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, where major reforms were approved to modernize passenger facilitation and security systems at airports across the country.
Senior officials from both ministries attended the session, which focused on improving airport security protocols and reducing long screening procedures for passengers through a coordinated strategy.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi directed the installation of advanced screening and scanning equipment at airports, stating that the security system should be brought in line with international standards.
He said the introduction of modern technology would save passengers’ time and reduce reliance on manual procedures.
He emphasized that public convenience remains the government’s top priority, adding that airport security checks should be both effective and hassle-free.
He further noted that a technology-driven system is being developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence to ensure a balance between security and passenger facilitation.
