Bukhara (Web Desk): The 16th International Conference on Management Research (ICMR), organized by Superior University, Lahore, commenced with great enthusiasm at Asia International University in Bukhara, Uzbekistan.

The opening ceremony was marked by a vibrant display of Uzbek culture — traditional music, local sweets, and handcrafted souvenirs — offering a warm and festive welcome to delegates from across the region.

The international academic event has drawn participation from researchers representing more than 25 public and private universities of Pakistan, who are showcasing Pakistan’s intellectual and academic potential at the global level under the banner of Superior University.

The conference aims to promote scholarly collaboration, cultural exchange, and innovation in management research across borders.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Rector of Asia International University, Sukhrob Dekhkanov, lauded Superior University’s exceptional leadership and research excellence.

He extended special appreciation to Rector Professor Dr. Sumaira Rehman and Chairman Board of Governors Professor Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman for their vision and contributions toward global academic engagement.

Highlighting the shared cultural and historical bonds between the two nations, Rector Dekhkanov proposed the establishment of a joint “Silk Road Portal” — a collaborative academic and research platform to strengthen cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

He remarked that both countries are bound by a common Muslim heritage, deep-rooted traditions, and mutual values, which can be further enhanced through educational partnerships and tourism initiatives.

Delivering the welcome address, Dr. Sami Bajwa, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences at Superior University, underscored the longstanding partnership between Superior University and Asia International University.

He noted that this trusted relationship has paved the way for the first-ever international chapter of ICMR to be held in Uzbekistan, symbolizing a significant step toward academic globalization and intercultural learning.

Following the inaugural session, a panel discussion was held where eminent scholars presented research papers on diverse themes of management, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

The academic dialogue fostered meaningful exchanges of ideas aimed at addressing emerging challenges in global business education.

Today's event concluded with a formal luncheon hosted by Asia International University in honor of the distinguished guests and participants, celebrating the spirit of collaboration and friendship between the two institutions.
