Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed that the federal government will continue to work closely with the newly elected Gilgit-Baltistan government to promote the welfare and development of the region’s people.
He made these remarks during a meeting with Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Amjad Hussain, who called on him in Islamabad.
The Prime Minister said the federal government is focusing on a range of development initiatives in key sectors, including renewable energy, tourism, infrastructure, health, education, and other areas aimed at improving the lives of residents of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that several priority projects are being pursued for the region, including the establishment of a 100-megawatt solar power project and the launch of Daanish Schools to provide quality education facilities.
He further stated that the government is planning to establish a Pakistan Asaan Khidmat Centre in Gilgit to provide easier access to public services and facilitate the local population.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister congratulated Amjad Hussain on assuming the charge of Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan and expressed hope that the provincial leadership would work towards the progress and prosperity of the region.
