Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday said that Pakistan will give befitting response if India undertakes any false flag operation to divert attention from its domestic chaos.

In a series of tweets, the prime minister said as protests in India are increasing, threat to Pakistan from India is also increasing.

PM Imran Khan said the Indian Army Chief's recent statement adds to our concerns of a false flag operation.

“I have been warning the international community of this for some time and am reiterating again: if India does such an operation to divert attention from its domestic chaos plus whip up war hysteria to mobilise Hindu nationalism, Pakistan will have no option but to give a befitting response,” the PM said.

He said over the last five years of Modi's government, India has been moving towards Hindu Rashtra with its Hindutva Supremacist fascist ideology.

“Now with the Citizens Amendment Act, all those Indians who want a pluralist India are beginning to protest and it is becoming a mass movement,” he said.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said at the same time the siege by Indian occupation forces in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir continues and a bloodbath can be expected when it is lifted.

On Wednesday, Indian Army chief General Bipin Rawat had stated that the situation along the Line of Control (LoC) could escalate anytime and the Indian Army was maintaining high level of readiness to cater to different contingencies.

Responding to Indian army chief’s statement on Thursday, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor said the "provocative statements" by the Indian army chief was an effort to divert the world’s attention from wide spread protests in India country against the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Act.

The DG ISPR said that Pakistan Armed Forces shall befittingly respond to any Indian misadventure or aggression.

India is currently facing widespread protests after the Bharatiya Janata Party passed the controversial Citizenship law.

As per the new amendment to the Indian constitution, people belonging to the Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, or Parsi and Christian faiths, and fleeing ‘persecution’ in Muslim-majority Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan, may be granted Indian citizenship.

However, there is no similar provision for Muslim refugees, enraging the Muslim minority of India.
