Islamabad (Web Desk): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has officially announced the schedule for upcoming by-elections in three key constituencies of Faisalabad — NA-98, NA-104, and PP-98.
According to the notification, candidates will be able to submit their nomination papers between August 28 and August 30. The scrutiny process will follow shortly after, while the polling is scheduled to take place on October 5.
The ECP has also stated that election symbols will be allotted on September 16, allowing candidates time to campaign ahead of the voting day.
These by-elections have drawn attention due to the political significance of the constituencies involved, especially as parties gear up for the next electoral cycle. Security arrangements, polling staff training, and logistic preparations are expected to commence in the coming weeks.
Observers say the by-polls will serve as a political temperature check in Punjab, where shifting alliances and voter sentiments are likely to play a crucial role.
