PSL 11: Lahore Qalandars beat Quetta Gladiators by 9 runs

Lahore (Web Desk): In a closely contested Pakistan Super League (PSL) match, Lahore Qalandars defeated Quetta Gladiators by 9 runs to secure two important points.

The match, played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, saw Lahore Qalandars winning the toss and opting to bat first. They posted a competitive total of 197/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Fakhar Zaman played a sensational innings, scoring 103 runs off 51 balls, leading the batting charge. Chathuranga de Silva contributed 31 runs, while Daniel Sams added 18.

For Quetta Gladiators, Khurram Shahzad picked up two wickets.

Chasing a target of 198, Quetta Gladiators fought hard but fell short, managing 188/7 in their 20 overs. Rilee Rossouw scored 62 runs, while Saud Shakeel added 53 runs to keep their side in the contest.

In the bowling department, Haris Rauf led the attack for Lahore with two wickets, while Shaheen Afridi, Ubaid Shah, Sikandar Raza, and Usama Mir claimed one wicket each.

With this victory, Lahore Qalandars moved to fourth place on the points table with 8 points from 8 matches. Quetta Gladiators stand fifth with 6 points from 9 matches, while Peshawar Zalmi remain at the top with 15 points.
