Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Monday signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in a range of sectors including culture, trade, and consular affairs.
The agreements were signed during the visit of UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Pakistan.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan signed an MoU between the UAE Ministry of Culture and the Culture Division of Pakistan to strengthen collaboration in the cultural domain. This agreement is expected to foster closer ties through cultural exchanges, heritage preservation, and joint cultural initiatives.
In addition, both leaders signed an MoU for the establishment of a joint committee on consular affairs. This initiative aims to facilitate greater coordination in consular services and enhance support for the citizens of both countries, particularly in matters related to visas, legal assistance, and expatriate affairs.
The two sides also witnessed the exchange of another MoU signed between the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).
This agreement paves the way for the formation of the UAE-Pakistan Joint Business Council, which will serve as a platform to promote economic collaboration, enhance bilateral trade, and encourage investments between the business communities of the two nations.
The documents were exchanged by UAE Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri and FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar welcomed the UAE dignitary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasizing the deep-rooted fraternal relationship between the two countries.
He noted that Pakistan and the UAE have been working closely together for the welfare and benefit of their peoples, and that their relationship is grounded in shared commitments, mutual respect, and affection.
In response, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his appreciation for the warm hospitality extended to him during his visit to Pakistan.
He remarked that Pakistan holds a special place in the hearts of the UAE’s leadership and its people, and he personally shares a close bond with the country.
The UAE deputy premier also conveyed his satisfaction with the current pace of bilateral relations and highlighted the desire of both nations’ leadership to further deepen and expand cooperation across multiple fields.
