Islamabad (Web Desk): A district and sessions court in Islamabad on Saturday indicted Umar Hayat, accused in the murder case of young social media influencer Sana Yousaf.
The 17-year-old TikTok star, who had built a following of over one million across different platforms, was shot twice at her residence in Sector G-13/1 on June 2, 2025. Investigators allege that the shots were fired by Hayat, a 22-year-old content creator himself, popularly known as “Kaka.”
A case was filed against him at Sumbal police station under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
Brought before Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal, Hayat listened to the charges being read out. He rejected the accusations, entered a plea of not guilty, and chose to contest the proceedings.
During the hearing, the judge asked directly whether he had killed Sana. Hayat replied that he had not committed the crime and described the accusations as entirely false. When questioned about allegedly taking her mobile phone, he denied that as well, insisting the claims were fabricated.
The court adjourned hearing until September 25 for further proceedings.
Initial police findings revealed that Sana’s parents were not home at the time of the killing—her father was at work, her mother had gone shopping, and her younger brother was away in Chitral with relatives after completing exams.
According to the victim’s aunt, who was present in the house, the accused had come to meet Sana.
She recalled overhearing her niece telling him to leave, pointing out the presence of security cameras, and offering to bring him water. Moments later, the suspect allegedly fired two bullets into her chest.
Investigators have characterized the crime as deliberate and “cold-blooded,” asserting that Hayat carried out the attack after repeated rejections of his marriage proposals.
