Govt announces three holidays for Eid-ul-Adha 2026

Islamabad (Web Desk): The federal government has officially declared public holidays for Eid-ul-Adha according to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division on Wednesday.

As per the notification, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved holidays from May 26 to May 28, 2026, which fall on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, to mark the religious festival.

Earlier, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced that Eid-ul-Adha would be celebrated across Pakistan on May 27 after confirming the sighting of the Zilhaj moon on May 17.

The decision was announced following a meeting of the committee held at the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) in Karachi under the chairmanship of Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.
