Rawalpindi (Agencies): Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Monday.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), matters of mutual interest including regional security situation were discussed during the meeting.
This is pertinent to mention that Pakistan's civil-military leadership and Chinese officials frequently hold meetings in the backdrop of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
CPEC, the multi-billion dollar project, is a 3,000-kilometre network of roads, railways and pipelines to connect Gwadar port in Pakistan to Kashgar in China's Xinjiang region.
