Islamabad (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received a telephone call from Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov.
During the call, the Uzbek Foreign Minister congratulated the Deputy Prime Minister on the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. He praised the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Chief of Defence Forces Syed Asim Munir for their constructive role in facilitating the process.
He also appreciated Pakistan’s efforts as a mediator and acknowledged its significant contribution to promoting international peace efforts as well as enhancing regional peace and stability.
Both sides expressed optimism that the progress achieved would continue in the next phase of engagement, helping to ensure lasting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and beyond.
The two leaders further agreed to maintain close contact on issues of mutual interest.
