Lahore (Web Desk): Rainfall continues across different parts of Punjab, with Lahore receiving light to heavy showers in various areas. The rain caused water accumulation on several roads, creating difficulties for commuters.
The weather turned pleasant after the rainfall, although humid conditions still remain in the city.
Meanwhile, a low-level flood situation has been reported in the River Chenab at Head Khanki and Qadirabad points.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), water levels in Punjab’s rivers are expected to rise further until July 24 due to increased water flow.
The PDMA has issued warnings regarding possible flooding in streams connected to the Ravi and Chenab rivers.
Authorities have expressed concerns over urban flooding in several divisions, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sargodha, Okara, Sahiwal, Bahawalnagar, and Rawalpindi.
The weather situation has also raised concerns in the hill torrents of Dera Ghazi Khan, where the risk of flash floods remains present due to possible heavy rainfall and increased water flow.
Relevant departments have been directed to remain alert and closely monitor the situation. Citizens have also been advised to take precautionary measures, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rains, and stay updated on official weather and flood warnings.
