Washington (Web Desk): Pakistan Embassy in Washington and top US lobbying firm Holland & Knight have signed a contract in Washington for lobbying services, the Radio Pakistan reported.
A representative of Pakistan Embassy and former Republican congressman from New York Tom Reynolds, who represented the lobbying firm, signed an agreement.
The firm will assist Pakistan Embassy in Washington to expand bilateral ties and further strengthen them keeping in view political landscape of the United States.
On the occasion, Tom Reynolds held a meeting with Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
Speaking on the occasion, the foreign minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan's visit to the US will usher a new era in Pakistan-US relations.
He expressed the confidence that Holland & Knight firm will fully assist Pakistan Embassy to promote Pakistan-US ties.
Tom Reynolds assured that his firm will extend full assistance to Pakistan Embassy for expansion in Pak-US ties on the basis of mutual interest and respect.
The agreement comes in a time when Prime Minister Imran Khan’s has departed for maiden visit to the US since assuming office.
The PM Imran Khan left for Washington on Saturday on the invitation of US President Donald Trump.
The prime minister is accompanied by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Director General Lt-Gen Faiz Hameed, Advisor to PM on Commerce Abdul Razzaq Dawood and Special Assistant on Overseas Zulfi Bukhari.
