5 khwarij killed as security forces foil infiltration bid on Pak-Afghan border: ISPR

Rawalpindi (Web Desk/Agencies): The Security forces killed five khwarij terrorist while successfully thwarted infiltration attempt by a group of khwarij on Saturday night in general area Sambaza, Zhob district.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on night 18/19 January, movement of a group of khwarij, who were trying to infiltrate through Pakistan-Afghanistan border, was picked up by the security forces in general area Sambaza, Zhob District. Own troops effectively engaged and thwarted their attempt to infiltrate. Resultantly, five Khwarij were sent to hell.

The military’s media wing said that Pakistan has consistently been asking Interim Afghan Government to ensure effective border management on their side of the border.

It added that Interim Afghan Government is expected to fulfill its obligations and deny the use of Afghan soil by Khwarij for perpetuating acts of terrorism against Pakistan.

“Security Forces of Pakistan remain committed to secure its borders & eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country,” the ISPR said.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have commended the security forces for foiling an infiltration attempt along the Pakistan-Afghan border in Zhob district.

In their separate statements on Sunday, they appreciated security forces for their timely and swift action against the terrorists of Fitna Al-Khwarij.

President Asif Ali Zardari said the valiant security forces of Pakistan are always prepared to protect the frontiers of the country.

He reiterated the resolve to fully eliminate terrorism from the country and to defend the country’s borders.

PM Shehbaz said the entire nation stands with the security forces in the war against terrorism. He also expressed the determination to eliminate all types of terrorism from the country.
