Karachi (Web Desk): The 14th death anniversary of veteran film and television artist Tamanna Begum is being observed today (Friday), with colleagues and fans recalling her long-standing services to the entertainment world.

Born in 1944, Tamanna Begum stepped into the creative field through Radio Pakistan, where she began shaping her acting skills.

She entered the film industry in 1962 with her debut in Daaman, launching what would become a prolific cinematic career.

Her performance in the 1977 film Bharosa brought her critical recognition and earned her the Best Supporting Actress honor at the Nigar Awards. Throughout her journey in cinema, she featured in more than 263 films.

She became especially known for convincingly portraying antagonist roles, though she also proved her range by performing lighthearted and comic characters.

After dedicating many years to films, she moved to television, where she remained equally active.

Appearing in hundreds of drama serials, she took on a variety of character-driven roles and continued to captivate viewers on the small screen.

Tamanna Begum passed away on February 20, 2012, following complications related to kidney disease.

More than a decade later, her artistic contributions continue to be remembered and appreciated across Pakistan’s entertainment landscape.
