Washington (Web Desk): A comprehensive security and reconstruction plan for Gaza was unveiled during a Board of Peace meeting chaired by US President Donald Trump.
The proposal outlines a multi-phase strategy aimed at stabilizing the region, rebuilding infrastructure, and strengthening security institutions.
According to the plan, the city of Rafah will be reconstructed on a priority basis within three years. The rebuilding process is expected to focus on restoring essential infrastructure, including housing, healthcare facilities, schools, and public utilities, in an effort to facilitate the safe return of residents and revive economic activity.
A major component of the proposal involves transforming Gaza’s coastal area into what has been described as a “new Mediterranean Riviera” over the next ten years.
The development vision includes the construction of 200 hotels, along with commercial centers, recreational facilities, and upgraded transport networks.
The initiative is aimed at promoting tourism, attracting foreign investment, and generating employment opportunities for local residents.
On the security front, more than 2,000 applications have reportedly been received for the establishment of a new interim Palestinian police force for Gaza.
As part of the long-term security framework, the plan calls for the recruitment of 12,000 police officers and an additional 20,000 security personnel to ensure law enforcement, maintain order, and support reconstruction efforts.
Officials presenting the proposal emphasized that the initiative is designed to create lasting stability in Gaza through a combination of economic revitalization and strengthened security structures.
