Riyadh (Web Desk): Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar on Thursday said that the incumbent government is fully focused on vibrant and advanced media aligned with modern trends.

Addressing the Saudi Media Forum 2025 in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh, he said that Pakistan has greatest human resource and it needs more international partners and global collaboration to groom the talent and reach technological advancement.

Highlighting the importance of collaboration between international and local media partners, the information minister stressed on enhancing these collaborations to improve skill development and capacity building of Pakistan's local media.

“Handholding from global partners can bring a paradigm change in the local media organizations in Pakistan,” Tarar said.

Pointing out towards a report by World Economic Forum (WEF), he said that fake information is the biggest threat and challenge of current era.

Tarar emphasized on the need of an international organization or media outlet with all countries as member states, which may have a system of facts checking.

“This system should enable to check the credibility of information through artificial intelligence and other intelligent means of information technology,” Attaullah Tarar said.

He said that fake information spreads faster than awareness on social issues and we all need to find a solution to this challenge.

“The use of social media and artificial intelligence needs to be fair and just and it cannot be tilted to just one sided,” the information minister asserted.
