Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday urged all the stakeholders to develop consensus to save democracy and the parliamentary system.

Speaking to newsmen outside the Supreme Court (SC) today, he said that the people of Pakistan have given a split mandate to all political parties, therefore, they should sit together for betterment of the country.

The PPP chief said that political parties should also demonstrate some flexibility to avoid any possible stalemate, the Radio Pakistan reported.

Bilawal Bhutto said that the PPP's formula of compromise is aimed at saving and continuing the democratic process in the country.

Without taking any names, the PPP chief said that progress can only be made in the talks over the formation of the future government if "someone" is willing to change their position.

"I see a dangerous stalemate if someone isn't willing to change their position," Bilawal commented on his party's talks with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for government formation.

Earlier on Tuesday, the deadlock persisted as the fifth round of talks between the PML-N and the PPP coordination committees concluded inconclusively.

The meeting, held at the residence of PML-N senior leader Senator Ishaq Dar in parliament lodges in Islamabad, was attended by prominent figures from both parties.

The PPP delegation comprised Murad Ali Shah, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Nadeem Afzal Chan, and others.
