No one will be allowed to disturb peace in Punjab:Azma Bukhari

Lahore (Web Desk):Punjab’s Information Minister Azma Bukhari has stated that no one will be allowed to disrupt law and order in the province.

Addressing a press conference, Azma Bukhari mentioned that extremist groups are continuing their activities in some form, and recently, businesses and properties of people have been damaged. She emphasized that attacks on businesses, particularly food chains, are being carried out under a planned agenda, with these businesses employing around 25,000 Pakistanis.

She also stated that these attacks are being carried out under the pretext of Palestine and Gaza, but assured that no one would be allowed to disturb the peace and security of the province.

Azma Bukhari highlighted that 14 cases have been registered, leading to the arrest of 149 individuals. In Lahore, 3 cases have been registered, resulting in 11 arrests, while in Sheikhupura, 1 case has led to the arrest of 73 suspects. She further mentioned that one person lost their life in the violent incidents in Sheikhupura.

She also revealed that in Rawalpindi, 3 cases were registered with 33 arrests, 8 suspects were detained in Gujranwala, and 11 suspects were arrested in Multan. Additionally, 6 suspects were arrested in Sahiwal, 7 in Bahawalpur, and 2 in Rahim Yar Khan.

The provincial Information Minister said that the government is taking practical steps regarding Gaza and Lebanon, with Prime Minister Imran Khan vigorously advocating for Palestine on the international stage. The Pakistani government is also sending humanitarian aid to Gaza.

She stressed that no one would be allowed to take the law into their own hands.

Azma Bukhari further revealed that a new force has been established for investigation and prosecution, and the prosecution department is being improved. Cases related to criminals, children, and women are being prioritized.

She assured that no leniency would be given to any suspect, adding that modern weapons have been provided to the police in the Kacha area, and new checkposts have been set up. The influence of criminals in Kacha has been significantly reduced.
