Rawalpindi (Web Desk): The dengue outbreak in the city is rapidly worsening, with the situation becoming increasingly concerning.
The number of dengue patients in government hospitals has reached 413, while private hospitals and clinics have reported over 400 cases.
Medical experts have warned that the next one and a half months pose a critical risk for the spread of dengue. Anti-dengue teams have inspected more than 4.9 million homes, discovering dengue larvae in over 130,000 houses.
Larvae were found in 17,862 locations in hotspot areas, and a third-party survey revealed larvae in 113 places previously declared clear, prompting immediate action by the authorities.
Due to negligence, 13 workers have been suspended, and 3 workers are facing action for submitting false reports. So far, 3,894 cases have been registered, 1,722 properties sealed, 3,304 challans issued, and fines totaling over 9.7 million PKR have been imposed.
