PM Shehbaz hosts luncheon for tri-nation cricket series teams

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hosted a luncheon on Wednesday in Islamabad to honour the cricket teams of Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe, who are taking part in the ongoing tri-nation series.

During his address, the prime minister emphasized that Pakistan’s consistent ability to host international cricket events reflects the country’s growing reputation, peace, and stability.

He commended the dedication, skill, and passion displayed by all three teams, noting that the players were serving as exemplary representatives of their nations.

PM Shehbaz encouraged the cricketers to continue demonstrating sportsmanship and mutual respect throughout the matches, setting a positive example for young aspiring athletes.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Interior Minister and PCB Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar, Railways Minister Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Sri Lankan High Commissioner Rear Admiral Fred Seniviratne, and Zimbabwean High Commissioner Titus Abu Basutu.

The prime minister also praised PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, highlighting his leadership in ensuring the tri-nation series is organized with meticulous planning, smooth arrangements, and high professional standards. He added that the tournament is providing cricket enthusiasts with top-quality matches.

PM Shehbaz expressed optimism that the series would strengthen friendship and cooperation among the three nations and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to welcoming international cricket teams in the future with the same spirit.
