Moscow (Web Desk): Pakistan and Russia have expressed strong satisfaction with the steadily improving direction of their bilateral ties.
The sentiment was shared during a meeting in Moscow between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Acknowledging the smooth cooperation between the two countries at major international platforms such as the United Nations (UN) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), both leaders agreed to enhance this partnership even further for mutual benefit.
They also reviewed the full range of their bilateral engagement and exchanged views on key regional and global matters.
Ishaq Dar underscored the significant contributions of the leadership of both nations, as well as existing institutional mechanisms, in further advancing Pakistan-Russia relations.
On the sidelines of the 24th SCO Council of Heads of Government meeting, Ishaq Dar also held a meeting with Tajikistan’s Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda.
He congratulated him on taking over as chair of the next Council meeting and reaffirmed Pakistan’s intention to strengthen cooperation with Tajikistan across various fields, in addition to maintaining close coordination at multilateral platforms.
The Deputy Prime Minister later met Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, where he praised the encouraging momentum in Pakistan-Uzbekistan relations and highlighted the role of high-level exchanges and SCO-based collaboration in deepening their partnership.
In another engagement, Ishaq Dar extended congratulations to Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan, on assuming the chairmanship of the SCO Heads of State.
The two sides discussed regional cooperation and exchanged perspectives on SCO priorities under Kyrgyzstan’s rotating presidency.
