PM Shehbaz hails advancements in $2.8 billion Saudi investment

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday underscored the growing importance of deepening the partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, particularly in areas like investment, defence and security.

According to a statement issued by the PM House, the premier expressed satisfaction with the implementation of the recent agreements that secure $2.8 billion in Saudi investment for Pakistan.

This came during a meeting of PM Shehbaz with the Deputy Interior Minister of Saudi Arabia Nasser bin Abdul Aziz Al Dawood, who is visiting Pakistan on an official trip.

The prime minister reflected on the long-standing, close ties between the two nations, expressing gratitude for Saudi Arabia's unwavering support.

He noted that both countries are working closely to enhance economic and investment cooperation for mutual benefit.

PM Shehbaz extended a warm welcome to the Saudi Deputy Minister and conveyed his greetings and best wishes to The Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.

The conversation also touched upon the ongoing crisis in Gaza and broader Middle Eastern issues.

PM Shehbaz commended Saudi Arabia's leadership, particularly Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s efforts in organizing the recent Arab-Islamic Summit in Riyadh, as well as his strong stance on Palestine.

He praised the Crown Prince’s role in uniting the Muslim world to address the violence in Gaza and seek an end to Israeli aggression.

Emphasizing the significance of bilateral cooperation in defence and security sectors, the prime minister emphasized the key role of Pakistan-Saudi cooperation in defence and security sectors, noting that the visit by the Saudi deputy interior minister would help strengthen ties in these sensitive areas.

PM Shehbaz also reiterated his invitation for Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to visit Pakistan, expressing that the Pakistani people were eager to welcome him with warmth and enthusiasm.
