In phone call, PM Shehbaz extends Eid greetings to President Erdoğan, condemns attacks on Turkiye

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan over the phone to convey heartfelt Eid-ul-Fitr greetings. The warm and detailed conversation covered matters of mutual interest, regional developments, and the unity of the Muslim Ummah.

During the call, Prime Minister Sharif extended his best wishes to President Erdoğan, his family, and the people of Turkey, which were warmly reciprocated. Both leaders prayed that this Eid would bring peace, unity, and prosperity to the Muslim world.

The Prime Minister strongly condemned the recent missile attacks on Turkey and assured President Erdoğan that the people of Pakistan stand firmly alongside their Turkish brothers and sisters in these challenging times. Both leaders agreed that regional conflicts can only be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.

The discussion also touched upon the situation in Afghanistan. Prime Minister Sharif praised Turkey’s constructive role in promoting peace and supporting a temporary ceasefire during the Eid period between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Referring to historical visits, Prime Minister Sharif mentioned President Erdoğan’s visit to Pakistan in February 2025 and his own visit to Turkey in April–May 2025, emphasizing that both countries remain committed to strengthening cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. The leaders agreed to maintain close contact in the future.
