PM Shehbaz appreciates Saudi Crown Prince for support to Pakistan’s peace efforts

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday held a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, during which the two leaders shared cordial exchanges in a warm atmosphere.

During their warm and cordial conversation, the premier extended his congratulations to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the formal signing of the Islamabad Peace Deal, describing it as a landmark development.

He also conveyed Pakistan’s sincere appreciation for the Crown Prince’s steady and unwavering backing of Pakistan’s peace initiatives, while acknowledging his statesmanship and prudent leadership of Saudi Arabia during a period of regional challenges.

PM Shehbaz further observed that the progress leading to the peace agreement between Iran and United States had been possible within a relatively short span of time due in large part to the strong support extended by Saudi Arabia, along with assistance from other Gulf partners.

In his remarks, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman congratulated the Prime Minister and especially praised the persistent efforts of Field Marshal Asim Munir, attributing a key role to his contribution in bringing the peace arrangement to completion.

Both leaders also underlined the importance of ensuring that the forthcoming stage of negotiations between Iran and the United States (US) moves forward without disruption.

They stressed that all pending matters should continue to be addressed through diplomatic engagement and constructive dialogue, while remaining alert to any efforts aimed at undermining the process.

Reaffirming the strength of Pakistan–Saudi Arabia relations, the Prime Minister noted that both sides were prepared to move ahead with finalising a broad-based economic cooperation package under the patronage of the Crown Prince.

He also reiterated his invitation to Mohammed bin Salman to pay an official visit to Pakistan at a time of his convenience.

During the conversation, the Prime Minister conveyed his respectful greetings and best wishes to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination and continued engagement in the days ahead.
