NA passes unanimous resolution appreciating Pakistan's tireless efforts for US-Iran agreement

Islamabad (Web Desk): The National Assembly (NA) on Friday unanimously adopted a resolution expressing appreciation for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the entire team engaged in in facilitating the US-Iran negotiation process.

The resolution, tabled by Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar, stated: “The House places on record its profound appreciation for the Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and the entire team engaged in the process of negotiations.”

It stated that their consistent and dedicated efforts had helped elevate Pakistan’s standing as a reliable and impartial mediator on the international diplomatic stage.

The House also extended congratulations and appreciation to the leadership of both the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States (US) for successfully concluding and signing what it described as a landmark peace agreement.

Lawmakers noted with a strong sense of satisfaction the significant diplomatic achievement, which resulted in the cessation of hostilities and the establishment of a framework agreement aimed at ensuring peace and stability between Washington and Tehran.

The resolution further acknowledged that the conflict had serious adverse consequences for regional stability, as well as for global economic conditions and energy security.
