Peshawar (Web Desk): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cabinet on Friday endorsed budget proposals for the fiscal year (FY) 2026-27, marking major planned expenditures on development and public sector spending across the province.
As per the budget statement, Rs519 billion has been allocated for a total of 2,765 development initiatives under the Annual Development Programme (ADP).
These include 2,070 schemes located in settled districts, 318 projects in the merged districts, and 377 schemes being executed under the Accelerated Implementation Programme (AIP).
The distribution of ADP funds shows that the largest share—44 percent—has been assigned to infrastructure development. Social sector programs account for 19 percent, while governance-related improvements have been allocated 13 percent.
In addition, 9 percent of the funds will go to the productive sector, and 5 percent has been dedicated to green growth initiatives.
The budget plan also reflects a dual focus on continuity and expansion, with 1,564 ongoing schemes alongside 1,201 newly launched projects, indicating the government’s intention to complete existing development work while simultaneously initiating fresh projects across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
