California (Web Desk): WhatsApp is preparing to roll out a highly anticipated update for its web version, one that many users have been eagerly awaiting. The upcoming update will introduce the much-needed support for group voice and video calls on WhatsApp Web, a feature that is expected to enhance the platform’s usability.

Currently owned by Meta, WhatsApp’s web version has been a great option for users who prefer accessing their messages through a browser, but it has lacked some key features present in the mobile app. This update, however, aims to bridge that gap, enabling group calls on the web platform and reducing the need for users to rely on the mobile or desktop versions of the app for such functionalities.

As of now, the feature is still in the development phase, and it is not yet available to beta testers. However, reports indicate that the ability to make or participate in group voice and video calls through WhatsApp Web will be available to users in the near future.

The primary goal behind this update is to offer a seamless experience that mirrors the mobile app's capabilities. By adding group calling to the web version, users will have the flexibility to switch between devices without missing out on important calls or features.

At present, WhatsApp Web only allows one-on-one audio and video calls. The company has been working on integrating group calls into the web version for a while now, and this feature will be a significant enhancement once rolled out.

When the feature becomes available, users will be able to start group calls directly from the chat window, receive notifications for incoming group calls, and easily join calls that are already in progress. This improvement is set to make WhatsApp Web a more comprehensive tool for users who regularly use the app for work, meetings, or family conversations.

Although the exact release date for this feature is still unclear, it is expected to be launched soon, and users are hopeful that it will be available to everyone in the near future.
