Karachi (Web Desk): Police in Karachi on Friday killed a suicide bomber and a militant involved in attack on a vehicle carrying five foreign nationals, all of whom remained unhurt.

According to a police spokesperson, the attack occurred in the Mansehra Colony area of the port city.
SSP Malir Tariq Mastoi confirmed that it was a suicide attack. He said that another vehicle was also damaged in the explosion.

As per initial reports shared by the police, the second terrorist killed in the encounter was also a suicide bomber.

"A suicide jacket and a grenade are tied to the terrorist's body," they said, adding that a bomb disposal team is reaching the site of attack.

The survivors of the attack were moved to a safe place in police custody, the police officials said.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack from any militant group.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah directed the inspector general of the province to submit a report on the attack. The chief minister also directed that 'immediate arrangements' be made for the security of foreign nationals in the province.

He added that no anti-national element would be allowed to disrupt law and order "at any cost". Murad also praised the timely action of law enforcers for thwarting the attack.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the suicide attack in Karachi and commended the police for averting any major loss of life.

He prayed for the recovery of the injured and directed authorities to provide all possible aid to the injured.

"We will thwart any nefarious act of disturbing law and order," PM Shehbaz said.

The Friday's incident comes less than a month after five Chinese nationals and one Pakistani were killed in a suicide bombing in Bisham, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
