London (Web Desk): US President Donald Trump, who is on official visit to the United Kingdom (UK), stated that the recognition of Palestine as a state should be considered within the framework of a comprehensive peace plan.
He also expressed disagreement with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on this matter.
Speaking at a joint press conference in Buckinghamshire, President Trump described his UK visit as “wonderful” and emphasized the exceptionally strong ties between the two countries.
Prime Minister Starmer highlighted the deep partnership between the two nations in defense, trade, science, and technology.
The leaders discussed global issues, including increasing support for Ukraine amid its conflict with Russia, as well as the ongoing war in Gaza. Starmer called for an immediate end to the Gaza conflict and the release of hostages, a concern echoed by Trump, who stressed the complexity of the Israel-Gaza situation but expressed hope for a peaceful resolution.
Trump also praised the new technology agreement between the two countries, anticipating it will spark a technological revolution. He commended Starmer as a skilled negotiator and welcomed the UK’s enhanced defense spending.
On the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Trump expressed disappointment with Russian President Vladimir Putin, acknowledging the situation is more complicated than initially expected. Both leaders agreed on the importance of continued dialogue to resolve ongoing crises.
Prime Minister Starmer reaffirmed the need for a peaceful solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and emphasized the importance of a clear roadmap for lasting peace.
